DEKALB, Ill. -Northern Illinois University head women's golf coach Pam Tyska announced the signing of Allie Parthie to a National Letter of Intent to play golf for the Huskies in 2009-10.

"Northern Illinois University is so excited to welcome Allie Parthie and her family to our women's golf program," Tyska said. "She has been recognized as one of the top junior players in Wisconsin, as well as a member of the Wisconsin High School Golf Coaches Association Academic All State Team. She has the capabilities to show herself as one of the top freshmen in the Mid-American Conference. Her aunt, Justine (Wallaway) Braatz was a top player for the Huskies in the early 80's and with Allie's arrival, the legacy will continue."

Parthie, a native of Marinette, Wis., was a four-year varsity letter winner as a member of the golf team at Marinette High School. During her high school career, she helped lead the Marines to a first-place finish in the Bay Conference her freshman, sophomore and senior years. Parthie also excels in the classroom. A member of the National Honor Society, she was named to the WHSGCA All-State Academic Team her junior year and also serves on the student senate.

The Huskies return to the course March 9, 2009, when NIU plays host to the NIU Springlake Invitational in Sebring, Fla.
