UNIVERSITY LEADS AFTER ONE ROUND AT 17TH-ANNUAL NIU SNOWBIRD CLASSIC
James Madison University blistered the course on Friday, carding
a 295 to lead the 21-team field at the 17th-annual Snowbird Classic.
The Dukes carded a 295 in the first loop, opening up a 12-stroke
advantage over the University of Southern Mississippi and the University
of Toledo. The University of Notre Dame and Southern Illinois University
rounded out the top-five, tied twenty strokes back.
On the individual side, the Dukes put three golfers in the top-six,
as Carol Green led the way with a one-under par 71. Teammate Jessica
Lewis finished the first loop one stroke back, while Toledo's Katie
Schmidt sits two strokes back.
