DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team returns to the course when the Huskies travel to Ponte Verde, Fla. for the Marsh Landing Invitational hosted by Cincinnati Monday.
NIU joins the host Bearcats, Jacksonville, Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast, USC Upstate, Cal Poly, Florida Atlantic, Daytona State and Brown.
"We plan to convert more birdie putts and have concentrated our practice on short game work to make sure that when we do miss the green, more often than not we will be able to get up and down for par," said NIU head coach Pam Tyska. " We are anxious to meet the best competition of the year and come out victorious with new foes and repeat competitors as well."
Northern Illinois looks to improve on its seventh place finish at the Saluki Invitational last week. NIU shot a 642 with Junior Allie Parthie (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) recording her sixth top-10 finish of the season shooting a 154 (76-78) to finish in fifth place.
The Huskies will play two rounds on Monday and one final round on Tuesday. The Huskies are one of 10 schools in the field. Tee times are set for 8 a.m. Central Time.
