Northern Illinois Women's Golf Team Anxious to Compete at Loyola Invitational
April 13, 2007 DeKalb, Ill.--After taking an unscheduled weekend off because of inclement weather at the Illini Spring Classic last week, the Northern Illinois women's golf team is anxious to return to the links at the 36-hole Loyola Invitational on April 16th-17th at the Pine Meadow Golf Course in Mundelein, Ill. Success Please note that 18 holes will be played on each of the two days with an 8:30 am [CDT] shotgun start. The five-team field includes: Butler, Cleveland State, IPFW, Loyola and NIU. The Huskies will be led by junior Abbie Many (Mount Prospect, Ill.) who tops NIU with a 79.5 stroke average while senior Lisa Bailey (Decatur, Ill.) is close behind with a 79.86 stroke average NIU head coach Pam Tyska will be happy to have her team back playing competitive golf. "We have done the best we [the team] can trying to practice during our week-long hiatus, but the 30 to 40 degree weather has forced us to cut our qualifying rounds short," Tyska said. "We are definitely looking forward to playing competitive golf again this weekend in what promises to be the best Illinois weather of the spring season." --NIU--
