MACOMB, Ill.-The Northern Illinois University women's golf team leads the Western Illinois Invitational after the first round of at Harry Mussato Golf Course Sunday.

Senior Abbie Many (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) leads the field after posting a first round 74. Freshman Jessica Parmenter (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) continues to impress, taking third overall with a first-round 77. Parmenter shot a 41 on the front nine and rebounded on the back nine with a 36.

"Abbie played very well. She was very solid all day," said head coach Pam Tyska. "She doubled the last hole. She found a water hazard she didn't think she could reach. We need to hold up those lows scores across the board. We did a good job today and we're looking forward to teeing it up tomorrow."

Ashley Lods (Monticello, Ind./Twin Lakes) posted a first-round 81, tying her for 22nd. Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) is tied for 28th after shooting an 81.

The Huskies conclude play in the Western Illinois Invitational Monday, Sept. 17. Tee time is set for 9 a.m.
