MACOMB, Ill. - Senior Abbie Many (Mr. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) shot a final-round 76 for a two-day total of 150 to win the Western Illinois Invitational at Harry Mussato Golf Course Monday. Many edged out Northern Iowa's Molly Schemm and Ann Amason who finished tied for second with a 152.

"Abbie Many played really well," head coach Pam Tyska said. "We're thrilled to death for her. She was very solid, very mature strategically. She had good shot selections. She deserved to win and she did."

Freshman Jessica Parmenter (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) posted the other top-10 finish, tying for sixth after shooting a final round 78 and 155 for a tournament. Sophomore Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) made the biggest move of the day. She was in 28th place after the first round, but rebounded in the final round with a 76 to finish with a 158 and a tie for 11th place.

The Huskies took second place overall in the team standings, finishing a stroke behind tournament winner Drake University. Drake shot a 626 during the tourney, while the Huskies posted a 627.

"Drake played very well," she said. "I was pleased with how we finished. Hats off to Drake. They just played really well today. We'll take this and learn from it."

NIU will be back in action Monday Oct. 1 when NIU hosts the Huskie Classic. Tee time is set for 8 a.m.
