DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team wraps up its fall campaign at The Preview at Hawthorns Golf & Country Club in Fishers, Ind. Oct. 10-11, the site of the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championships.

NIU is one of 14 teams slated to play the par 72, 6,127-yard course. The Huskies will be joined by MAC foes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan as well as Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Indiana State, IUPUI and Southern Illinois.

The Huskies head into play looking to improve on a seventh place finish at the 27th annual Huskie Classic at Kishwaukee Country Club last week.

"We have a good field here," said NIU head coach Pam Tyska. "We have a little bit of regional competition, some of which we haven't seen before. Some of which we have. This is our best time to get reacquainted with some of the MAC schools we will see in the spring.

"We have been working on some things to escalate our performance from the Huskie Classic, which was a little disappointing and finish the fall on a good note."

Leading the way for NIU will be Allie Parthie (Marinette, Wis./Marinette), who has been the most consistent golfer for the Huskies this season. She has posted four top 10 finishes in as many tournaments for the Huskies this fall with her best finish, a third-place showing, coming at the SIUE Intercollegiate. Her best score of the season came at the Cardinal Classic where she carded a 151, shooting a season-low 72 in the final round.

"She keeps a handle on her emotions," Tyska said of Parthie's play. "She has the physical play and her own error corrections system. She's able to get out of trouble. She's able to make the best of less than desirable situations."

Play for The Preview begins each day with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CST. This weekend's event is being hosted by Western Michigan.
