The Huskies celebrated Senior Day with their highest score of the season in a win over Eastern Michigan.

Northern Illinois took on MAC heavyweight Central Michigan on Senior Day (Feb. 26) in Victor E. Court.

NIU Career Bests: Vault - 9.750 (3x last at BGSU/Alaska, 2-15-15); Floor - 9.850 (Eastern Michigan, 3-15-15).

2015: Saw action in every competition this season on both vault and floor exercise, with her career high on the floor coming against Eastern Michigan (3-15) with a 9.850, while scoring a 9.725 in vault. Her highest vault score came against Bowling Green and Alaska (2-15) with a 9.750 on the vault while also scoring a 9.825 on the floor. Matched that score on the floor at Central Michigan (2-6) and while also scoring a 9.675 in vault. Scored a 9.675 on the vault and a 9.800 on floor exercise against Kent State (1-16). At Southeast Missouri State (2-20), she tied for sixth on vault with a 9.725 and tied for fourth on floor with a 9.750. On vault, she put up another 9.675 against Lindenwood (1-23), a 9.650 at Western Michigan (2-1) and a 9.550 at UIC (1-9). On the floor, she posted a 9.700 against Lindenwood and a 9.500 at UIC. Scored 9.700 on vault and 9.650 on the floor at the MAC Championships (3-21).

2014: Participated in all but one competition in both the floor exercise and the vault last season. Her best overall performance came at Bowling Green (2-23), scoring a career best in floor exercise with a 9.800 and tying for fourth place in the vault with a 9.725. Season best 7.750 in the vault came on two different occasions, first at Kent State (2-7), then at the State of Illinois Classic (2-21). Tied for a first place-finish in the floor exercise against Western Michigan (2-1) with a 9.775. Finished the season with back-to-back 9.725 in both events before finishing the season at the MAC Championships with a 9.650 in the vault and 9.700 in floor exercise.

2013: In the Huskies' line-up in every meet on vault, seven times on bars and five times on floor exercise in 2013; Recorded a career-high 9.775 on vault at the MAC Championships as part of NIU's record-setting day on that event; Also scored a 9.700 on vault at Western Michigan and posted a 9.650 or higher five times; Had a pair of fourth-place finishes on bars vs. Bowling Green and Kent State with a career-high 9.750 vs. KSU; Earned a career-high 9.750 on floor as an exhibition gymnast in the Kent State meet; Scored 9.650 or higher on floor exercise three times with a 9.675 vs. Southeast Missouri State. Victory Scholar (3.5 and above) in NIU's Academic Excellence Program; Named to the Academic All-State Team.

2012: Competed in nine meets for the Huskies on the vault and floor exercise before being sidelined by injury. Competed as an exhibition gymnast on the uneven parallel bars against Illinois-Chicago (1-8) and Ball State (2-4) Finished fifth on vault against New Hampshire (1-28) with a score of 9.550. Scored a career high of 9.700 on vault against Central Michigan (2-26). Averaged a 9.510 for the season on vault. Scored above a 9.600 on floor exercise seven times. Twice recorded a career high 9.750 on floor exercise, against Western Michigan (1-22) and again at Kent State (2-19).

Prep: Trained at Great Lakes Gymnastics in Avon Lake, Ohio as a Level 10 gymnast for three years, and competed on her high school gymnastics team at Magnificat. Two-time high school state all-around champion in Ohio. Won the all-around at the state meet as a senior with a score of 37.475 after placing second on the vault (9.500) and bars (9.375), third on floor exercise (9.425) and sixth on balance beam (9.175). Dominated at the Ohio state meet in 2009 as she won event titles on vault, bars and floor and took the all-around crown with a 37.250 to lead her team to a second-place finish. As a junior, took third on uneven parallel bars as her season was limited due to injury. Won the high school state vault title and was the runner-up in the all-around as a freshman in 2008. Named the Ohio High School Gymnast of the Year by the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 2009 and 2011 and was a four-time All-State selection by the OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association). A three-time all-region selection as a prep gymnast and won all-conference honors all four seasons. Served as team captain as a senior. As a club gymnast, posted career-best scores of 9.400 on vault and floor exercise, and 36.675 in the all-around. As a junior, she was a part of the Region 5 winning team at Nationals where she placed 18th all-around and 13th on floor exercise. Took fifth on bars at the 2011 Ohio State Championships. Third on vault with a 9.350 and seventh in the all-around (36.525) at the 2009 Region 5 Championships.

Personal: Daughter of Patrick and Ann Nortz of Bay Village, Ohio. Born in Columbus, Ohio. A volunteer at Fairview Hospital in her hometown. Admires Amanda St. John. Plans to pursue a career as a nurse anesthetist. Named a Victory Scholar with a GPA above 3.5.
