Women's Gymnastics season comes to close as Campos, Williams compete at South Central Regional
LINCOLN, NE-For the fourth time in her illustrious career, Northern Illinois University women's gymnast Kristina Campos saw her season come to a close at a place that only a handful of collegiate competitors ever get a chance to visit. Campos and teammate Ashlee Williams closed out their 2005 campaign at the NCAA South Central Regional Saturday (Apr. 9) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, NE.

Campos (Gladstone, MO / Oak Park) earned a 12th-place finish in the all-around competition after collecting a 38.025 over four events. Williams (Liberty, MO / Senior)---who qualified as an event specialist on the uneven parallel bars, placed in a tie for 29th in the final standings with a 9.700 routine. It was the first career trip to the NCAA Regional meet for the First Team All-Mid-American Conference selection.

Just ahead of Williams in the bars standings was Campos who put up a 9.725 to tie for 27th. The senior---who is now one of only two Huskie gymnasts to ever make four consecutive appearances at an NCAA Regional along with Martha Unger (1987-88, 1989-90)---also placed in the top-15 in the floor exercise with a 9.800. She added a 36th-place 9.375 on the balance beam and a 9.125 that was good enough for 38th on the vault to round out her night.
