TOLEDO, Ohio - The Northern Illinois women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Toledo Sunday afternoon in the second consecutive road game to open the MAC season for the young Huskies.

"Toledo's experience outplayed our youth today," said assistant coach Paul Jobson. "They have a very good veteran team and we hung with them for the first 40 minutes but they got a late first-half goal and carried that momentum into the second half."

The Rockets got on the board late in the first at 42:04 when Kirsty Wilson scored on an assist from Suzi Siwinski. That same combination tallied Toledo's second score, this time early in the second half at 49:24. Diana Ginley capped the game's scoring by putting the Rockets ahead 3-0 at 55:17.

Five different NIU players recorded the team's five shots in the match.

NIU, now 1-6-2 on the year and 0-2 in conference action, continues its four-game road swing to open league play with trips to Ohio on Friday and Akron on Saturday.
