OXFORD, Ohio - An early goal by Miami Freshman forward Sara Lund proved to be the game winner as the Huskies went down to the Miami RedHawks in Oxford, Ohio Sunday, 2-0. Lund's goal came in the twelfth minute of the game and forced the Huskies to play catch-up for the rest of the match. The Huskies are now 5-5-3, 2-3-1 while the RedHawks stand at 5-5-3, 3-2-1. "We had a hard time finishing today," head coach Marci Miller Jobson said. "We fought hard with a banged up squad today, we had a lot of chances but just couldn't finish. We need to finish the chances that we create." The Huskies out shot the RedHawks 24-11 but none of their ten shots on goal could find the back of the net. Lisa Maier led the Huskies with six shots followed by Kelly Mullany with five. The RedHawks struck again in the sixty-second minute with a strike from Sophomore Jodi Zwingelberg on a give-and-go in the box to give the RedHawks their second and final goal of the match. NIU continues its four-game road swing next weekend with matches at Ohio on Friday and Akron on Sunday. -NIU-
