MUNCIE, Ind. -
Lisa Maier and Kelsey Passaglia led the Northern Illinois women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Mid-American Conference competition Ball State, Friday. The Huskies battled through rainy and windy weather conditions at BSU Soccer Field in Muncie, Ind. to record the win over the Cardinals.
Maier (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) gave the Huskies an early lead over Ball State when she was able to hit the ball past BSU's goalkeeper to record the Huskies' first goal of the afternoon. Passaglia (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) assisted Maier in her third goal of the season.
NIU's second goal of the contest came at the 20:51 mark when Passaglia found the back of the net off a free kick from Kelly Mullany (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley).
