BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Northern Illinos closed its road season today at Bowling Green, falling to the Falcons 2-0 on a cool, windy day in Ohio. The Huskies will now close their season Thursday against Western Michigan in DeKalb.
Said Head Coach Carrie Barker after the game "We had our opportunities and we worked hard today."
Northern Illinois held Bowling Green scoreless in the first half, allowing zero shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of the match.
Senior Kelsey Passaglia for the second-consecutive match led the Huskies in shots with two in the 90 minute bout with the Falcons.
Megan Amann scored the first goal of the match in the 51st minute, receiving a ball after a long run by Madeline Wideman on a long run. Sydney Huth followed in the 83rd minute with BGSU's second goal.
Sophomores Samantha Hill and Kayra Thompson each recorded a shot on goal to assume the lead and equalize the match.
The Huskies are 2-14-2 this season and 1-9-0 in the MAC and Bowling Green is now 6-13-0 and 3-7-0 in conference. NIU will close its season Thursday afternoon against Western Michigan at 1:30 p.m. at NIU Soccer Complex.
