Effective immediately, all boys and girls from the ages of six to thirteen that register for one of NIU's soccer camps (Day Camp or Developmental Academy) will have the opportunity to purchase specially discounted tickets through the Chicago Fire (based upon availability). In addition to getting discounted tickets to four potential games, the first 30 campers to sign up for each game will have the opportunity to be in the "Tunnel of Fire" as the Fire players enter the field for the game. Finally, there will be a special raffle at NIU camp check-in for Chicago Fire merchandise and prizes!

The Chicago Fire are consistently one of top teams in the premier professional soccer league in the United States, Major League Soccer (MLS), with having won the MLS Cup in 1998 and the US Open Cup in 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2006. Many of the top soccer players from the Chicagoland area have made their way to the MLS ranks. Just last year, the Fire opened a brand new state-of-the-art soccer specific stadium in Bridgeview, IL (approximately 60 miles from DeKalb).

NIU men's soccer is coming off of their best season ever (15-6-1), which includes the Mid-American regular and tournament championships, a 2nd round appearance in the NCAA tournament and a final national ranking of #22. In addition, NIU women's soccer had their most success in nearly a decade and made it all the way to the Mid-American Conference Championship game where they lost 2-1 to Toledo.
