Marci Miller Jobson World Cup Blog - Oct. 4
Oct. 4, 2007
It is October 4th and I am back at Northern Illinois University catching up on a list of a million things that seems a mile long. My jet lag is now gone and my third place World Cup medal is up in my office. I am excited to be back in DeKalb and to resume my coaching duties. Paul Jobson, Chuck Codd and Merit Stloukal have done a great job so it makes coming back a lot easier. I look forward to seeing how the girls play this weekend in MAC competition against Kent State and Buffalo. Leaving China was bittersweet as we ended on a great note by defeating Norway 4-1, but falling short of our ultimate goal of winning the World Cup. Leaving your team is like saying goodbye to 20 sisters because the relationships you have as teammates goes very deep. We have all spent so much time together that there is a slight emptiness when you depart. All in all my World Cup experience was amazing and something that will make me a better coach, friend and wife. I learned so many different life lessons, some difficult and some inspirational. I want to thank all of you all for reading my blog and being a part of my journey. And for now, GO NIU HUSKIES! Past Blog Entries
