The Northern Illinois women's soccer team closes out their home schedule this weekend when it hosts Miami (Ohio), Friday at 3 p.m. and Ball State, Sunday at 1 p.m.
Sunday is Senior Day, where the program will honor Jenna Clausen (Racine, Wis./Horlick), Erin Fahey (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way Central), Thea Johnson (Homewood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and Jestina Orlando (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) for their contributions to NIU athletics.
The Huskies (8-3-5, 4-2-2 MAC) had a two-game road trip last weekend, highlighted by a 1-0 victory over Buffalo, Friday, Oct. 17.
The Huskies are unbeaten in their last five matches and currently stand third in the Mid-American Conference standings.
The Huskies are paced by forwards Becca Ford (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) and Johnson, who co-lead the team with four goals each.
Junior goalkeeper Lindsey Curnock (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) has recorded eight shutouts this season, which ranks second in the MAC. Curnock also ranks fourth in the MAC in save percentage (.835).
The Huskie defense ranks third in the MAC in goals-against average (0.75) and goals allowed (13).
Junior Lisa Maier (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) and Johnson both collected their sixth assist over the weekend, and they both rank second in the MAC in assists.
The Huskies take a stellar 6-1-1 home record into Friday's match against Miami (Ohio).
Miami (Ohio) (4-10-1, 3-5-0 MAC) is led by Sara Lund, who has seven goals and two assists this season. Goalkeeper Krista Pace has recorded 54 saves and one shutout in 10 matches.
Ball State (8-7-1, 4-3-1 MAC) is unbeaten in their last two matches and Emily Rein's four goals and six assists lead the team. Goalkeeper Rachael Murphy has collected 56 saves and six shutouts in 16 matches.
The Huskies wrap up the regular season when they travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Western Michigan, Thursday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
