Northern Illinois' Karen Enockson Named Academic All-District
Nov. 1, 2007
DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois senior forward Karen Enockson (St. Charles, Ill./East) was named as a first-team selection on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team announced Thursday. "Karen is a great representation of the All-American student-athlete," head coach Marci Miller Jobson said. "She is an incredible student, an incredible captain and she has been scoring goals and getting job done for us on field. Karen encompasses everything you want in a player, a captain and a student-athlete." Enockson, who has a 3.95 GPA as a psychology and Spanish double major, leads the Huskies with six goals and 12 points this season. She has 19 career goals and ranks in a tie for sixth on the NIU all-time list. A two-time victory scholar at NIU, Enockson earned an Academic All-MAC selection in 2006. The captain has helped lead the Huskies to consecutive MAC Tournament appearances and the school's highest regular-season victory total (eight) since 1998. Enockson's selection to the District 5 team places her on the Academic All-America ballot that will be voted on and selected later in November.
