Assistant Softball Coach Jenna Roberts talks about what brought her to NIU and what it means to coach here in DeKalb.

2013: Started all 58 games for the Huskies and has made 127 straight starts...established career highs in at bats (172), hits (51), home runs (5), put outs (113) and RBIs (27)...leads the team and finished tied for fifth in the MAC in doubles with 12...named to the 2013 MAC All-Tournament Team after helping lead NIU to the championship game of the 2013 MAC Softball Tournament...she batted .375 (6-for-16) in five games at the tournament, well above her season average of .297...tallied five multi-RBI games, driving in a season-high three runs on four occasions...recorded 10 multi-hit games, including a perfect 3-for-3, three RBI performance against Toledo (5/3/13).

2012: Only player to start all 53 games for the Huskies, starting 48 at shortstop, three at first base, a game at second and a game in the outfield...Recorded 25 hits in 130 at bats...Scored 14 runs and drove in 11...Established career highs in at bats (130) and triples (2)...Tallied six multi-hit games and two multi-RBI performances...Drove in three runs versus Southern (2/10/12) at the Lion Softball Classic.

2011: Played in 49 of 53 games ... Started 43 games, including 42 at shortstop and once in the outfield ... Second on the team in doubles (12), sixth in slugging percentage (.474), and fifth in runs scored (24) ... Posted 11 multi-hit games ... Recorded a season-high three hits, including her second career longball, versus St. John's (2/27/11) ... Drove in a season-high four RBIs versus Toledo (4/24/11) and Loyola (4/28/11) ... Achieved Huskie Scholar status (3.0-3.49 G.P.A.) within NIU Academic Excellence program.

2010: Played in 49 games, starting 42 making 15 at third base and 24 in the outfield... Ranked fifth on team in doubles (8) and posted a .241 batting average and .339 slugging percentage with 27 hits and 16 RBIs in 112 at bats... Lined a double to center field to clear the bases and give the Huskies a 4-0 lead in NIU's 6-3 victory over Ohio (4/10/10)... Turned in her best performance of the year after going 2-for-3 from the plate with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored vs. UIC (4/14/10).

High School: Made the all-conference squad for three straight years ... Voted Diving Diva her sophomore year ... Named to the All-Area and third team All-State Illinois Coaches Association Teams as a junior ... Helped lead Bengals to the 3A Championship in 2009 ... Named to the Chicago Sun-Times All-Area team, Illinois Coaches Association All-State team and Chicago Tribune All-State her senior year ... Chosen as the SSC Blue Division Player of the Year in 2009 ... Named one of the Top 12 seniors to watch by the Southtown Star as well as a Top 100 Area Player by the Chicago Tribune, Southtown Star, and Sun-Times as a senior.
