Assistant Softball Coach Jenna Roberts talks about what brought her to NIU and what it means to coach here in DeKalb.
2014: Saw playing time in 29 games as a pinch hitter, pinch runner, outfielder, designated player and pitcher...Hit .235 in 17 at bats, compiling nine runs and two walks...Started four games, including two as a designated player and one as an outfielder...Posted a 2-for-2 performance in the second game of a doubleheader against North Dakota (4/2), highlighted by an RBI double, stolen base and a walk...Finished the day 3-for-5 in two games against UND...Earned her fourth hit of the season against Loyola Chicago (4/23).
2013: Played 46 games, starting 11, eight in the outfield and three at designated player...Used primarily as a pinch runner, making 29 appearances as a courtesy runner...Also made six pinch hitting appearances...Established career highs in at bats (28), runs scored (20) and hits (3).
2012: Participated in 38 of the Huskies' 53 games...Made 31 appearances as pinch runner, three as pinch hitter, two at second base, one as designated hitter and one in the outfield...Recorded three at bats, scoring five runs and no hits...Ended the season with an on base percentage of .250.
High School: Four-year Scholar Athlete and varsity letter winner for the Sages...Named to the Champaign News Gazette team, Decatur Herald All-Area team, and Illinois Coaches Association All-State team junior and senior year...Named to the Okaw Valley All-Conference and All-County teams sophomore, junior, and seniors years...Selected for the "Super Senior 60" by the Illinois Coaches Association...Led the Sages to two regional championships in 2008 and 2009...Voted the Sages offensive player of the year senior year while batting .500 in the lead-off spot...Holds third place in career stolen bases at Monticello High School...Illinois State Scholar and member of the National Honor Society.
