Huskies Fall to San Diego in Game One

SAN DIEGO - The Northern Illinois University softball team suffered a 4-0 loss to in its first game of a doubleheader with San Diego Wednesday afternoon at the University of San Diego Softball Complex.

The Toreros (4-8) jumped on top early, scoring two runs on three hits in the second inning and tacked on two more insurance runs in the fourth inning. San Diego ended the game with 11 hits, while holding the Huskies (1-10) to three hits.

Sophomore Morgan Bittner (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly) suffered the loss, falling to 1-5 on the season. She allowed four runs, all earned on 10 hits and a base on balls in four innings pitched. Monica Segura (Santa Ana, Calif./Segerstrom Fundamental) came in and pitched two innings of one-hit ball.

The Huskies take on the Toreros in Game Two at 7 p.m. Central Time.
