DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University softball team returns home from its five game road trip for a six-game homestand beginning with a doubleheader against Loyola Wednesday afternoon.
First pitch for Game One is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central Time. Fans can follow all the action live, via Gametracker at NIUHuskies.com.
"They have a good combination of speed and RBI producers," Sutcliffe said of Loyola. "We have to see what we can do from keeping the line up from turning over and giving them free bases. We've been struggling with the walks and hit by pitches right now. Right now, we need to just go one out at a time."

The Huskies (11-23, 1-5) return to Mary M. Bell Field looking to get back in the win column after dropping their last six-straight games. Northern Illinois lost a heartbreaker 5-4 in extra innings to Miami Sunday. NIU pounded out eights on the afternoon with Nicole Gremillion
(Missouri City, Texas/Elkins) leading the way going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. However, the Huskie defense committed three errors in the game.
Loyola has won six of its last seven contests heading into Tuesday's contest against Purdue. The Ramblers are 2-2 against the Mid-American Conference this season. Northern Illinois owns a 25-16 edge in the all-time series, however Loyola swept last year's series in Chicago.
Following its series with Loyola, Northern Illinois welcomes Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan for a weekend set. NIU will face the Chippewas in doubleheader Friday while the Eagles will be in town Saturday and Sunday.
