Jonna Schwartz is in her first season at Northern Illinois University. She joins Ryun O. Ferrell and the Huskies for the Spring 2007 season. A graduate of The University of Montana, Schwartz competed on the women's tennis team for four years under Head Coach Jen Canuso Anderson, serving as team captain during her final season. During her career, Schwartz received All-Conference honors for two of her four seasons, and helped the Griz to three 3rd place finishes in the Big Sky Conference Tournament. While playing for the Griz, Schwartz spent her summers coaching tennis at Stonebridge Country Club (Aurora, IL), White Eagle Homeowner's Association (Aurora, IL) and most recently New England Tennis Holidays (North Conway, NH). After graduating with high honors from The University of Montana in May 2006, Schwartz assisted Anderson and the Griz for one semester before joining the Huskie staff. The Aurora native attended West Aurora High School where she teamed with fellow Huskie Megan Brooks for 5th and 6th place finishes in the IHSA state tournament in 2000 and 2001. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in English at NIU. |
