2014-15 SEASON: Completed an undefeated 20-0 (8-0 MAC) spring season in singles, posting a 31-3 overall record in 2015...recorded 10 wins with partner Cristina Alvarez in No. 1 doubles...Named MAC Singles Player of the Week three times (Jan. 28, March 11,), making her an eight-time winner of that award... Honored as MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week twice (Jan. 29 and March 25)...Broke the NIU all-time career combined wins record previously held since 2000 by Anna Widen with a doubles victory against Bradley on Jan. 31, 2015...Also topped Widen's NIU all-time singles wins record with a victory against Bucknell (March 10) and the program's career doubles wins record vs. Western Michigan (April 12)...Enjoyed a phenomenal final fall campaign, posting a 16-8 overall record with eight wins in singles and doubles each... Won the top-tier Green singles flight at the Chicago State Invite and also cruised to the Singles A flight triumph at the UIC Invite... Advanced to the Round of 32 in both singles and doubles at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional in Champaign, Ill.
2013-14 SEASON: Another strong year, being selected to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team ... Also honored as Academic All-MAC athlete ... Finished the season 15-10 in singles, taking all of NIU's No. 1 matches ... Won 9-of-10 matches after starting the spring winless after her first three (Feb. 8 to Mar. 28) ... Received back-to-back MAC Singles Player of the Week Awards (Mar. 20 a Mar. 27) ... Played with Arantza de la Torre in doubles, going 15-11.
Spring 2013: Went 21-3 in singles to cap off an outstanding season, setting the program record for most wins in a single scholastic year at 27 ... Finished 18-5 in doubles, playing primarily with Arantza de la Torre and adding a couple with Mary Malkin ... Played in all of NIU's No. 1 matches ... Ran off 16 straight victories before taking her first loss of the spring ... Named MAC Player of the Week three times (Jan. 30, Mar. 6 a Apr. 24) ... Honored as MAC Scholar Athlete (Apr. 26) ... Earned First Team All-MAC honors ... Named to Academic All-MAC Women's Tennis Team ... Named to Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team ... Won the USTA Midwest Championship, earning a spot in the US Open National Playoff.
Fall 2012: Followed up on her successful 2011-12 season by opening the 2012 fall season with a 6-2 singles record ... Opened the season with three consecutive victories over Wichita State (6-1, 6-0), North Dakota (6-1, 6-0), and Wichita State (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) ... Won three consecutive matches for a second time defeating Illinois State (6-1, 6-1), Milwaukee (7-6, 1-6, 10-4), and Eastern Michigan (2-6, 6-1, 7-5) ... Youel received an invite to the prestigious USTA/ITA Midwest Regional singles draw, the first Huskie to receive such an invite in over a decade, and won her first match over Eastern Michigan ... Her run to compete in the USTA/ITA Indoor Collegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y. at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center came to an end in the second round ... In doubles play, Youel and her partner Arantza De La Torre finished with a 4-2 record, recording three consecutive victories over Valparaiso (8-3), DePaul (8-6), and Western Michigan (8-2) en route to a consolation title at the DePaul Invitational.
2011-2012: Finished her first fall season as a Huskie with a 6-3 singles record ... Won three consecutive matches on two separate occasions and was the only Huskie to finish the fall with a .500 or better record during singles play ... During doubles play partnered with Haley Dekkinga for a 6-2 record while winning their first three matches ... Her spring season was also successful with a 14-8 singles record ... Led the Huskies in wins (14) with two different three-match streaks and a four-match streak, defeating Southern Illinois (6-3, 2-6, 6-3), Milwaukee (6-4, 6-1), Bethune Cookman (6-4, 6-0), and Embry Riddle (6-1, 6-3) ... Went 11-11 in doubles play, partnering a majority of the time with Arantz De La Torre ... Won three consecutive matches against North Dakota (8-3) Bradley (8-4) and Eastern Illinois (8-4) ... Finished her rookie season as a Huskie with a team-leading 37 victories.
