ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Participating teams in the ITA Midwest Regional continued playing on Saturday in both doubles and singles matches. The Huskies were done with doubles matches in the tournament after the first day of doubles play on Friday, October 11. The team still had a representative for singles play on Saturday though in Nelle Youel. However, Youel lost her first match against Gabriella De Santis of Ohio State, 6-2, 7-5.

Nelle had chances all of the map, "said Head Coach Ryun Ferrell. "De Santis played just good enough to beat her. She had some opportunities to get the match into the third, but came up short. Nelle has had a tremendous fall and is improving day by day. I believe she is ready to take that next step to put her at an elite level. We have one more event. We need to get healthy first, and then really get to work so we can finish this fall season strong."

With Youel's elmination, NIU has completed playing at the Midwest Regional. The Huskies have one more event on the fall schedule, the NIU Invitational. That's set to begin on Friday, October 25 at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, Ill.
