DeKALB, Ill. -

Women's tennis is headed to Chicago for the Chicago State Invitational this weekend to begin the fall season. This tournament will be hosted by Chicago State University, held at the university's tennis courts. The action will begin September 13 at 10 a.m. and last all day and throughout the weekend.

A lucky group of seven will be participating in this year's festivities, including NIU, Chicago State, Bradley, Lewis, South Dakota, UW-Green Bay, and the University of Chicago. This will be the first invitational that Chicago State will host for women's tennis. As such, it will also be the first time that NIU will travel to Chicago State for a season-opening tournament.

The Huskies will not have another event to attend for another couple weeks. The next spot on the schedule is the UWM Invitational, set to begin on October 4. It will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and held in Whitewater, Wis.
