Walsh Named MAC West Division Volleyball Player of the Week
With a home playoff match on the line, Northern Illinois
University senior middle blocker Corinne Walsh (Evergreen Park)
put all concerns to rest as the Evergreen Park native helped the
Huskies to a Mid-American Conference road sweep of the University
of Akron and the University at Buffalo last week with a total of
40 kills and a hitting percentage of .493 (40 kills, 6 errors, 69
attacks) to lock up the No. 8 seed for NIU in the upcoming MAC Tournament.
For her efforts,
the Mid-Am Commissioner Rich Chrysta announced Monday (Nov. 14)
that Walsh was named the West Division Volleyball Player of the
Week for the period ending November 13th.
