Head cross country coach Greg Hipp gives tips on running in the summer heat
2013:Ran at six meets in 2013... Won the NIU Open individual title with a time of 19:29.85... Posted a season-best 5K time of 18:39.72 at the Illinois State Invitational... Placed 45th at the MAC Championships with a time of 23:02.42... Notched a season-low 6K time of 22:20.00 at the Bradley Classic.
2012:Competed in two meets before missing the remainder of the season due to injury... Ran the fourth-fastest 5K time in school history at the NIU Open (9-7), crossing the finish line at 18:29.99 to take 13th place... Finished third at the UIC Opener (9-1) with a time of 11:31.10.
High School: Named to the Illinois all-state cross country team following her senior season... Took 14th-place at the Class 3A state cross country meet with a career-best time of 17:13.00... Took 26th place at the 2010 Illinois Class 3A State Cross Country Championship, just missing out on all-state honors... Won the Northern Illinois Conference 10 individual championship during the 2010 and 2011 seasons... Also qualified for the state cross country meet as a sophomore... Earned first team all-conference recognition each of her four years with the Huskies... Awarded the cross country team's MVP honor each of her four years at Harlem... Holds three school records (3-mile cross country, 3200 meters, 4x800 relay)... Ranked as the sixth-best senior in Illinois among all classes... Earned Illinois State Scholar recognition and boasts a 4.0 GPA.
