The Northern Illinois cross country team will host the second annual Huskie Open run Friday afternoon at the NIU North 40.
In addition to it serving as the final home event of the 2013 season, the Huskie Open is a unique opportunity for community runners to compete alongside the Huskies. The event, which features members of the NIU cross country team and other area collegiate runners, is open to community runners of all levels. Registration is free for community runners and donations are appreciated.
“We are excited to once again welcome our area community runners to compete alongside members of our team," said NIU head coach Greg Hipp. "We use this event to give those on our team not competing at our final championship another opportunity to compete and improve. The event is also a great way to connect with our local community runners”.
