DeKALB, IL - Having locked up its berth in the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Wednesday night, the NIU women's basketball team looks to solidify its seeding when it heads to Kent State for the final regular season home game on Saturday.

Tip-off on Saturday is at 1 p.m. CT at the M.A.C. Center with the game broadcast on ESPN3 and locally on WDKB 94-9 FM and the NIU Huskies and Varsity Network app.

NIU (16-12, 8-9 MAC) will secure the fifth seed in the MAC Tournament with a win on Saturday. The Huskies earned their spot in Cleveland Wednesday night with a 73-63 win over Eastern Michigan. NIU closed the first quarter on an 11-2 run to take a 22-15 lead. The Huskies made five more threes than the Eagles and nine more free throws. NIU is 6-2 over the last eight games. Since Feb. 4, NIU leads the MAC in scoring offense at 78.0 points per game, rebound margin at +8.50 and three-pointers with 9.13 per game.

A'Jah Davis (DeKalb, Ill./Montverde Academy [Fla.]) added another NIU record to her playing resume Wednesday night. Davis had a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Eastern Michigan for her 51st career double-double, passing Tammy Hinchee (1986-90) for the NIU record. It was her 20th double-double of the season, making Davis the first Huskie to have two seasons of at least 20 double-doubles after setting the NIU single-season record with 24 last year.

Davis moved into ninth all-time on the NIU career rebounds list with 991. With 339 rebounds this season, she is 10 away from tying her single-season record of 349 set last season. Davis is third in the nation in rebounding at 12.6 per game. She has averaged 15.25 rebounds per game over the last eight games.

Kent State (19-9, 11-6 MAC) is 11-6 in the MAC after a 64-60 loss at Toledo on Wednesday night. Senior guard Katie Shumate led the Golden Flashes with 19 points and eight rebounds against the Rockets. She leads Kent State with 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
