Week's Achievements: Schepler played a huge role in Northern Illinois' dominating 55-24 win against Central Michigan. Though he did not record any receptions in the win, the senior from Sycamore, Ill., was a major part of the Huskies' 407 yards rushing against the Chippewas. Along with paving the way for Jordan Lynch's 152 rushing yards and Leighton Settle's 144 yards on the ground, Schepler made two key blocks on special teams. In the second quarter, NIU executed a fake punt by Ryan Neir that resulted in a 17-yard gain and a first down, eventually setting up a field goal for the Huskies. In the fourth quarter, his block on the outside opened a gaping hole up for Mathew Sims to scamper into the endzone on a fake field goal for a 41-24 lead.
Week's Achievements: Roddy's stellar play at outside hitter led NIU to a perfect 2-0 MAC home opening weekend after being at Victor E. Court for the first time since an 8-6 road trip. Off to a 3-1 start in league play for the second time in three years (2010) and winners of nine of their last 12 matches, the Huskies earned their third straight win over Ball State (3-1) on Sept. 28 as Roddy tallied 15 kills, 12 digs, two blocks, and an assist and ace for 17 points, while hitting a respectable .316. In NIU's third straight win over Toledo (3-0), and 12th in the last 14 meetings, Roddy totaled 12 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and hit .333. For the weekend, the Californian averaged 4.43 points, 3.86 kills, 0.57 blocks, 0.14 aces, and hit .323. Roddy now has eight matches with over a .300 hitting percentage and four double-doubles.
