Week's Achievements: Knotek played a critical role in the Huskies' undefeated week, starting and playing all 90 minutes in both NIU wins. The senior business major, who carries a 4.0 grade point average, led the NIU defense to back-to-back shutouts against MAC rivals Western Michigan and Bowling Green. The defense held its opponents to just 15 total shots on the weekend, while NIU totaled 31. He took one shot in NIU's 1-0 win over the Falcons. Week's Achievements: In two Mid-American Conference road matches, Hoffman was an efficient performer for the Huskies, compiling 87 assists (10.08/set), nine digs (1.12/set), seven points (0.88/set), five kills (0.62/set), two blocks (0.25/set), and an ace (0.12/set).  For her five kills, she needed only 11 errorless swings to make for a healthy .455 hitting percentage.  At Toledo on Friday (Oct. 29), Hoffman handed out 57 assists and added eight digs, four kills, two blocks and an ace to boot.  With 30 assists on Saturday (Oct. 30) at Ball State, Hoffman achieved her 14th consecutive match with 30-plus helpers.  Against the Cardinals, the 2009 Academic All-MAC selection chipped in with a dig and kill each as well.  A history major, Hoffman has been an NIU Victory Scholar (3.50 GPA or better) in all four semesters.
