Week's Achievements: Ware led the Huskies in tackles Saturday during NIU's 63-0 win against the UMass Minutemen. The Bolingbrook, Ill., native recorded eight stops on the day to break his previous career-high of five. Among those eight stops was a one of NIU's 10 tackles for loss on the day. He also played a big part in keeping UMass off the scoreboard, which marked the first shutout for Northern Illinois since Sept. 27, 2008.
Week's Achievements: Kurisch led the Huskies to a 2-0 road weekend as she hit a team-high .468 and averaged 3.29 kills per set and 4.57 points per set. In a 3-1 win at Toledo, she racked up 11 kills on 27 errorless swings for a .407 hitting percentage, adding eight blocks, three assists and an ace to boot. In a sweep at Ball State, she had 12 kills with just one error on 20 swings for a .550 hitting percentage, adding four blocks as well. The double digit kill matches upped her season total to 14 and she has now hit over .400 in nine matches.
