Week's Achievements: Brad Dieckhaus, the No. 2 seed, won the Mid-American Conference Championship at 184, defeating the No. 1 seed Casey Newburg of Kent State, 3-2 in the title bout. Dieckhaus, who missed all of last season with an injury, defeated No. 3 seed of Jimmy Hamel, 3-2, in his first match of the tournament. Dieckhaus is one of two NIU wrestlers that will be competing at Nationals Mar. 17-20.
Week's Achievements: Natalie Sutter recorded a career high 9.825 on floor exercise in the Huskies’ meet versus UIC (March 1) to take third place and added a team-best 9.725 on floor in Saturday’s meet at Iowa (March 5) to help NIU to its two highest team scores of the season last week.  Sutter tied for sixth on floor at Iowa with that mark.  On vault, Sutter tied her season high with a 9.675 at Iowa to post the second-best score on the squad and she averaged a 9.625 in her two vaults on the week.  Northern Illinois’ overall team score of 193.575 versus UIC was the Huskies’ highest total since 2009.
