Week's Achievements: Alan Baxter was a force on the Huskie defense in Sunday night's 38-20 win over Arkansas State in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. The junior from Buffalo Grove, Ill., tied his career-high with seven tackles against the Red Wolves, while registering 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss in the victory. Baxter's biggest play of the game arguably came in the second quarter when he brought down ASU quarterback Ryan Aplin for a 13-yard sack, effectively stopping the Red Wolves' drive that had reached the NIU 44-yard line.
Week's Achievements: Shonda Clore opened up the Huskies' 2012 gymnastics season with a strong performance Sunday against UIC. Clore, who hails from Grand Rapids, Mich., won the uneven bars with a final score of 9.800 to beat out teammate Natalie Sutter and the Flames' Cynthia Lemieux-Guillen for top honors. The senior also tied for third place in the balance beam and took fifth in the vault.
