Week's Achievements: Brad Dieckhaus earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships Sunday at the MAC Championships after finishing in second at 184 pounds. The redshirt senior recorded two straight pins to advance to the finals, topping Buffalo’s Justin Lozano at 2:48 in the opening round and Kent State’s Casey Newburg at 6:48 in the semifinals. Dieckhaus’ run came to an end in the finals when he lost to No. 4 Ben Bennett of Central Michigan, 8-1. The St. Charles, Mo., native defended his second place finish with a 4-1 decision against Ryan Garringer of Ohio.
Week's Achievements: Shonda Clore helped the Huskies post their second-highest score in program history Sunday in a 195.100-194.350 win against Illinois State. Clore tied for first in the bars with a score of 9.800, which set a new team-high for the 2012 season. She followed that up a tie for second in the beam with a 9.775 – also a season-high for the Huskies. Clore completed the day with a 9.675 in the vault to place eighth on the day.
