Week's Achievements: Troy White had a complete weekend at the plate, batting 5-for-16 (.313) and adding five RBI, three runs, a home run, a double and a walk. White capped the Huskies scoring Sunday against Akron in the fourth inning, as he sent a three-run homer over the right centerfield fence to lift NIU to a 4-0 lead, en route to an 8-2 lead. He finished 2-for-4 Sunday against the Zips. He had an RBI against Milwaukee the Huskies midweek contest against Milwaukee and also drove in a run during NIU's 10-5 win over Akron in the Huskies first MAC win of the season.
Week's Achievements: Haley Dekkinga was a rock for the Huskies in their 2-0 weekend as she combined to go 4-0 in singles and doubles play while losing only two sets all weekend. Playing at the No. 3 and 4 singles spots, the sophomore upped her career-high win total to nine this spring with wins over Valparaiso's No. 4 Michele Fredlake (6-1, 6-0) and Western Illinois' No. 3 Jessica Theobald (6-0, 6-0). Teaming with freshman Stephanie McDonald at No. 3 doubles, Dekkinga continued to increase her career-best doubles win total to 11 this spring with victories over Valparaiso's Goheen/Fredlake (8-1) and Western Illinois' Romero/Pazdernick (8-0).
