Week's Achievements: Paul Hammerschmidt recorded the best finish of his collegiate career, earning 18th-place at the COG Mizzou Intercollegiate. Hammerschmidt posted a seven-over 223 in the 54-hole event, the second-best finish among the five Huskies competing. Hammerschmidt opened with a 76 in his first round before posting his best round of the tournament, an even-par 72, in the second round. He finished the tournament with a 75 to claim 18th overall. Hammerschmidt helped the Huskies tied for fourth-place in the team competition in the 15-team field.
Week's Achievements: Jenelle McCalla notched two top three finishes last weekend at the Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational hosted by Western Illinois. The Whitby, Ontario, native took third place in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.78. McCalla closed the day out by running the second leg of the Huskies' first place 4x400 relay team. Joined by Erin Milner, Erica Miller and Rebecca Cronin, the NIU quartet crossed the finish line at 3:55.07. As a team, the Huskies took third place at the meet with 126 points, trailing only Marquette and the host Leathernecks.
